Getting muddy, getting cooking, getting weighed, and getting ready for some awesome things to come!
set U free crew kicking ass
A team of 10 ladies from the set U free crew are taking part in Yorkshire Warrior on 30th April. We have been meeting on Sunday mornings to get in some group training sessions.
We have done weights training, hill sprints, lunging though the mud, climbing fences, jumping in streams, to try get ready for the event. We are doing this madness to raise money for a very good local cause; Leeds Women’s Aid. If you can spare even a few pounds, then please do donate, as every penny will be well spent in making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable women and children.
All the ladies taking part come from different backgrounds, and different abilities, but there is no competition, everyone is working together and encouraging each other. I could not be more proud to be leading such an inspiring team.

Weigh Everyday Experiment
We have a saying here at set U free: Awesome Isn’t Measured in Pounds. It’s my way of reminding people that sometimes the scales aren’t the best measure of success, and you can love your body, feel confident and be a total fit and healthy bad ass despite what the scales say. Long ago I gave up on caring about the number on the scales, but I still see so many sane women struggle to overcome it. So I set up an experiment to weigh myself everyday.
I was shocked by how quickly weighing myself everyday effected me including; self-hatred, binge eating and doubting healthy choices. Find out how it went.
Also, don’t forget to catch up on Maria’s ongoing weight loss journey. Her monthly updates are so hones and funny. I can’t wait to read them each month. Check out last months update involving a cat and a wetsuit!
Expect to see more of my face!
If you follow me on Instagram or other social media, then you will know I have been doing lots of photo-shoots recently. I can’t yet officially confirm all the reasons why, but I can tell you that I have been working closely with Weight Watchers Magazine. They will be running a feature story on my weight loss journey in the June edition of the magazine, along with a few other exciting things that I have to keep under-wraps for a little longer. But trust me, it is very exciting! Stay tuned.
The shoots themselves have been so much fun, but seriously; modelling is so much harder than you could imagine. (I use the word modelling in the loosest possible sense). But I wouldn’t moan for a second, it was an honor. I felt like a total glamour princess getting my hair and makeup done. I spend so much time in gym leggings and trainers, I forget what heels feel like! If any modelling agencies out there are looking for a ‘plus size’ ginger model complete with real stretch marks and saggy skin- then get in touch.
That’s it for this month guys,
