set U free is more than a fitness studio, we are a community. We support, inspire and motivate each other. We meet as a crew regularly for social events, challenges, group training sessions and charity fundraisers.  Our crew come from all backgrounds.  We are different sizes, ages and abilities working together as a team.

We are dedicated to creating a place where people can learn how to become fitter, healthier and more confident in a safe, realistic and empowering way.

Jennie Gadsby – Founder, Lead PT and Crew Captain

From not owning a pair of trainers, Jennie is now an advanced personal trainer specialising in obesity and diabetes management.  She is Fitness Expert for Weight Watchers UK, writing their monthly fitness column and has developed and fronted their online workout videos.

After changing her own life in incredible ways, Jennie is passionate about helping others do the same.  She has an unprecedented ability to bring the best out of everyone she meets.

My job is pretty simple, I make people feel better about themselves. I help people feel awesome, because when they do, they can achieve all their goals- no matter how impossible they seem” – Jennie.

 

 

Maria – resident blogger

Maria smashing the triathlon Maria joined the set U free crew after a freak accident left her with a shattered ankle. Having struggled with her self-image for years, Maria was worried that being stuck at home for months would cause her to gain weight. She needed something to keep her mobile and motivated. And motivated she was, ever dedicated and hard-working, 18 months after joining with a leg brace on Maria ran her first triathlon.

Back on her feet, Maria now bravely shares her personal fitness and weight loss journey in her inspiring monthly updates.  Maria makes us cheer, laugh and cry with her raw honesty, relatable self-reflections and comical musings.
